The three costs of a GPS

• The tracker, bought once.
• The installation, done by an installer, often hidden under the dashboard.
• The subscription: the SIM card, the data and the platform that shows the positions. It is paid monthly or yearly.

Always compare the total cost over two or three years: a cheap tracker with an expensive subscription often costs more.

Prices seen in Morocco

A 2026 Moroccan guide puts the tracker at 400 to 2,000 MAD, and the subscription at 30 to 120 MAD a month for individuals.

Professional fleet offers go up to 1,200 to 3,500 MAD per car, with 80 to 250 MAD a month of subscription. In classified ads, branded 4G trackers sell for around 700 MAD, subscription extra.

What an agency should ask

• A 4G tracker: the 2G and 3G networks are set to shut down.
• An alert when a car leaves its zone or drives outside a rental.
• The real mileage, for servicing and returns.
• A backup battery, so an unplugged tracker still reports its position.
• An installer in your city, and who pays them.
• The commitment period, and who owns the data.
